alisiad : Ya it looks like a pretty fine weight for a scarf...that would make it frustrating. What size needles are you using?
meganjaepearl : @alisiad 10 and the yarn is DK? Does that mean anything? Do you think it's too fine for a scarf?
alisiad : Not necessarily although you might be happier with the result if you use more like a size 6 or 7 needle (although it will take longer to do). Have you learned purl stitch yet?
meganjaepearl : @alisiad I know it's basically the opposite of a regular stitch but no, I haven't done it. Is it usually done every other row?
alisiad : Just depends on the type of look you are going for. A good book I would highly recommend is "Stitch n' Bitch." It'll walk you through all the basic stuff plus much more. I still use it all the time as a reference.

pamalajane : Thanks @crumblecake @lalou71 @massenzifroni there are spots with a light pinkish brown. It was hanging outside with some wool I dyed with sumac and I think the wind caused them to touch ......transferring some of the sumac to the cotton.

pamalajane : @littlelysewings it washed out to a light peach. I will post a picture when it dries. My guess is that it would have been darker with a different mordant. Wool dyes a yummy golden brown with no mordant.
