swimbaitunderground : What 4" inch are you talking about? Is it the hud shad or minnow? If that's the case then yes. @ryan_hargrove if it's the 6" in trout then use at least a 15# test.

swimbaitunderground : @strikekingfishing depends, hardbaits, for me hands down 3:16 Lures takes the cake. They are hard to come by though because of the high demand. Be prepared to shell out $100-$400 for a used/new 3:16 Hardbait. Soft baits, you can't go wrong with 8in Huddleston Deluxe or 6 in rising son. Huddleston because of the sheer amount of big fish caught with it and rising son because it's so easy to fish.

swimbaitunderground : @fishingstud12 Me personally, 20-25lb test and never below 17lb. The bigger your bait, the more fish focus on your bait not the line I think. Look at an a-rig, that thing has thick wires and fish don't seem to mind.
swimbaitunderground : @fishingstud12 another thing to consider is the weight of the swimbait. You don't want your $200 bait snapping on a cast and believe me i've done it on a few occasions. It's not a nice feeling. You also want to horse a big fish instead of playing it. Because swimbaits are heavy, the fish have more leverage in spitting your bait. Lock your drag, set the hook and horse the fish in. Can't do that with a 10lb test.
