Very thankful for this week's #collabFOURation guest artist, Kyle AKA @kjjohnson. Kyle was the first person to use one of my pictures for a collaboration, and in so doing helped me to see one of the ways that IG could provide a door to truly interacting with others. This image, taken in Duluth, MN, could not be more fitting. Kyle and my collabFOURpals, @elbow_macaroni, @38ssiew and @timothygirard are also all guys who model for me lives focused on others, each in their own way making strides to live on the doorstep of Heaven. Thankful to surround myself with guys like these. Editing process: First: take edit in three directions, then switch - a switch in part inspired by Erin AKA @lifewithart. If you have not seen her gallery and cool portraits, go! Took Kyle's door shot (iPhone 5, native camera) and did my usual Snapseed Fu (Tune Image, Selective Adjust and Vintage, no texture). Then I took a silhouette selfie (iPhone 4s, cameraplus) from the #collabFOURetreat at Joshua Tree, pulled it into Snapseed and did a very similar edit, except I used the texture. Pulled both shots into Blender normal mode, masked out the dark area of the silhouette. Back into Snapseed for some final fu. REALLY had fun with this, and am planning on doing some more soon. If anyone ever wants more details, just let me know. I know I am seriously pushing the caption limits. #ampt_community
