#WellnessScriptureWednesdays Today's wellness scripture comes from Proverbs 23:1-2. This is one of my favorites and it really helped me on my wellness journey. Consider carefully what food is in front of you before you eat it. Don't just eat anything. If it has too many ingredients and you need a physics degree to know what half of them are, put it back. I was a part of a conversation yesterday and people were talking about how they don't mind paying for "quality." They mentioned clothes, shoes, makeup, bags, cars, private schools, massages, hotels/resorts, etc. When I mentioned food they looked at me like I was crazy. Lol. The next verse says to put a knife to your throat if you're a man given to appetite. Your gluttony is killing you. Stop overeating. If you continue to over eat, the Word says you might as well cut your throat because that's what you're doing anyway, killing yourself. For my emotional eaters, food is fuel. Its not your boo. Food fills the stomach, not the heart. Jesus fills the heart. Run to Him when you're emotional and not the fridge. Be mindful of the things you put into your body more than what you put on it. So many times we tell God that we are going to change, but the truth is, we usually NEVER DO. God gave us one command above all others in the New Testament, GO (Matthew 28:19-20). Guys it's time to break repetition, it's time to study the Bible and be an example, people, it's time to get up and GO! We can't back down, the world is at it's worst, so why should Christian's be at their worst just because things are getting harder? Jesus said GO (change the world for Christ and reach every person you can possibly reach). As much as you think you can't make a difference in someone's life, you do, you are the example, it's time for us to stand up and rise to the challenge! GO!<3
