The Dominica Series. I started this series two weeks ago; by the time it ended, I have lost one great IG friend who fled IG and realized another wonderful IG friend has closed her account, and more excellent IGers are migrating to other online communities: #my_ig_community is disintegrating right in front of my eyes! Have you also experienced such loss and disintegration in the recent weeks, especially since FB bought IG? Is this largely an American phenomenon? How are you feeling about the disintegration: sad, frightened, want to flee and find new communities, feel helpless in changing the situation, keeping sharing your beautiful work and not to think about it, want to do something about it? By starting this conversation among those who are still here, I hope we can figure this out together: better understand what is happening, why it is happening, what the future is for us. (more below)

seeallie : @penni_for_your_thoughts thank you, Pen! I hear you and feel the same: it's pretty hard to cope - it makes me not want to invest my time, thoughts and feelings - I hate this! Next time I will ask for alt contact info before people disappear. I guess it's hard to say goodbye too. Glad we are still here, together :)
preciousnest : It must be hard for someone who's been here for awhile... I just joined a few months ago and I love the sense if community here. People like @penni_for_your_thoughts and @jennym35 have been very welcoming and I feel lucky to have found them... But mostly... I love the pictures. As long as people like you keep putting up fab shots, I'm going to be here to ❤ them.
slaubr : Beautiful series Allie! I too have been debating whether I want to leave, but mainly because IG has been more glitchy than it was before. I've been bombarded by ghost followers and enterprises who are here to sell their products, not necessarily my kind of follower or IG fellow... Fortunately (or unfortunately) work has been insanely crazy that my time on IG has been almost non-existent. I'm glad you and your gorgeous photos are still here, for sure. 😘
seeallie : @slaubr dear Susi, thanks for sharing your thought here. Sometimes I want to believe that there are technical solutions to some of our problems. For example, one has to approve or can reject a potential follower's request; create customizable app settings that allow us to automatically reject a follow if the requester has not liked any of our pictures, and periodically removes those inactive followers, etc. etc.... Sorry to hear about your busy work schedule, and hope you will find the time to enjoy life soon. Have a great weekend!
