albertancowboy : Nah. Just from all the heating and cooling from cutting it, it kinda hardened. My buddy took his rifle and shot a chunk of steel the same size as the lock and apparently this stuff is pretty damn strong. @kalpay

slavestocustom : @sigmar661 it's for some kind of packaging machine. A local company has them made in china then strips them to fix all the faults (most of it) and use us for the fix, we arc air gouge and reweld then re machine critical features ill upload another pik to show size

I'm an oil tool machinist and at a big company I worked at before started ordering pre machined "blanks" (wellheads and such where we would do the detail work) from china and out of a 200 part order we would routinely scrap half of them because something was wrong (material would have sand enclusions/pits, they would miss rough tolerances of +/- .100). It was still cheaper to buy those though then have them made here 100%. Sad really
