stearnguitars : @jkfalcon They hold the graphite strip in between the belt and the platen. I did that so I'd be able to make adjustable end blocks to the platen. I need to make smaller ones for a twelve-fret neck join.

old_dreamer : Ok i understand now how it works. Few years ago I built a CNC machine with rollers balls bearing and 3 Steps by Steps motors controled by Microchip microcontrollers. 👌Can work at 0.01mm précision. 😃

stearnguitars : @drewglose If I've learned anything making guitars, it's that you can buy some tools but you have to make your own jigs. People will charge you an arm and a leg to make you something you could figure out in a day or two.

stearnguitars : @bradley85 I still want talk with you but yes, you got it. I have a 12.5' top radius so I added an ebony insert to get the neck angle right.

bradley85 : Aha! That makes sense. I used to use a 30' top radius and ended up radiusing the upper bout and transverse area to 50' to get the neck angle I wanted. I now glue 50' braces into a 40' radius dish. It puts the too under some tension and I get the neck angle I'm after without any funny business at the fingerboard extension. ;). But ya, lets talk. Give me a holler this weekend sometime.
