This is my first pick, by a very talented @ashishkapoor submitted to #jj_forum_0325, and it portrays exactly what I look for in photography: simplicity.
A photographer has a very complex job trying to capture precise moments in time and freeze them forever, most of those times using a very complicated object we call a camera. All these complexities, however, do not mean that the result has to be, especially when photography has advanced to a whole new level called mobile photography, which is so simple a 5 year old with a phone can manage. Add filters provided by a myriad of applications, and the look and feel of photos changes.
iPhones and other smartphones have given us a gift: to be able to capture great photos with ease of use and still manage amazing results. That's what I want to portray with my editor picks, how beautiful and captivating some photos can be and how they are taken by everyday, amazing individuals in our little community.
Note: I promise not to make future posts this long!
