#building_buddy wants to thank #GFI_Realty #Dune_Capital & #Ace_Hotels for restoring the former #Hotel_Breslin to the glory it had in this #1912 #photo in the years of its early glory after the #George_Fuller_Construction built #Clinton_and_Russell designed #hotel was still considered the class of #NYC accommodations. #NoMad now is reborn & so many buildings that also have this great history & world class architecture will be revived in the same vain!

Developed by a successful cattle trader from Kansas City no expense was spared. Breslin used the one of the leading architects and most prestigious contractors of the day (think a building that looks like an iron whose original name was the same as it's original owner/contractor) and those investments continue to payoff to this day. Unfortunately after World War 2 like most of lower fifth the area deteriorated substantially. For some reason this beauty was turned into rent stabilized housing (some tenants remain choosing not to accept GFI buyouts) ; fast forward nearly 60 years when #GFI_Realty realized the potential of both the area and this beauty. The developers successfully restored the beauty brought in #Stumptown and 2 #April_Bloomfield restaurants, retail and Brooklyn sandwich shop #Project_Number_8 making #TheAce one of NYC's coolest places. This hotel more importantly restored this area's historic relevance thus spawning the #rebirth of #NoMad in #Gotham Eat, sleep, play, work, drink ; whatever motivates you to go, just go!
