You have managed to create a great visual tension between the near and far, the bright and dark, the warm and cold.
Perspex draws you down the corridor only for the curiosity to be sparked further by the role of the chair in this scene.
Add to this a tapestry of varying textures, and differing rhythms in the graphic elements, it successfully takes the viewer on a journey and rewards them at every stage. Great shot.

The reclining dog makes such a simple yet powerfully balanced image for us, by its use of the compositional principle - continuance. Our attention is drawn straight to the dog, yet we then follow the arc of its body and the direction in which it is looking to take in the lower third of the image, emphasised by a brighter highlight.
The vignetting and inclusion of a few out of focus ground textures, hold our gaze and move the eye back round towards the top resulting in a balance. Great shot.

In a sense you have created an inverted image. Our brain's ability to close or complete abstract shapes into recognisable forms, from our point of view creates a hero subject out of what could be seen as 3/4 of a letter X.
This negative space as the subject or figure of this composition is only challenged when we inspect the details that frame it and discover the secondary subject that is the buildings.
This Yin and Yang relationship creates a perfectly balanced image even though the real objects are mostly cropped off the edges.

What we love in this shot is the balance of colour and form. The obvious hero is the bright lamp drawing your eye straight to the top right corner, while I find that my attention is then brought back to the bottom left, I think because the pipes frame and highlight a section of wall that has the greatest detail and texture and too the curved pipe corner contrasts against the rectilinear grid of the bricks. Finally the play of warm and cool hues helps frame the two focal points.
Let @saddingtonbaynes and I know if anyone shares these thoughts or if you have other readings of why and if this composition works for you.

Graphically, the converging sweep of the flyover directs the viewer to the bottom of the image where attention is held by the rhythmic columns and patterns of highlights upon them.
The counter-balance we feel comes from patch of sky holding the brightest highlights and in turn the negative space of the flyover becoming as much a subject as the details below.
Love the warm/cool palette and abstraction in the everyday.

At first glance it would appear to be overly weighted towards the right with the foreground rail, denser buildings and the converging rails taking you to the right of the frame.
Beyond this though it is really a composition of highlights working diagonally across the three rails and up to the sky.
This combination of movement direction mixed with the atmospheric warm tones makes for a striking and rewarding shot.

We feel it's strength as a composition lies in the use of several design principles; isolation, proximity and continuation.
The main hub of the object and the majority of the details pull your focus bottom right. We naturally follow the path of the radiating lines (continuation) to find the discs at their ends. As our brains work to simplify complex scenes we look for groupings based on colour, size shape and proximity and in this case we tend to see the large group bottom right, a pair bottom left and an isolated element top left. Isolation is a strong emphasiser and it is this lone disc with support from the pair that beautifully counterbalance the main hub. Thank you for taking part.

d1gby : @chegarman one of things we love about your shot is the use of depth of field.
On its own the hero capsule would be imbalanced within the shot, as by cropping off the left of the frame it takes your attention outside of the picture. The less detailed, and out of focus second capsule however is a powerful counter-balance by remaining within the frame top right, and strikes a diagonal tension with the highlight of the hero capsule.
The depth of field creates a perfect primary and secondary focus and keeps me engaged as my eye moves around the shot.

The main inspiration for this photo was the color... which I absolutely love - also the reflection on the table. But alone these two features needed contrast and balance... which you have articulated beautifully. Composition is my favorite part of photography and IG's square format is proving to be great fun!
