bonelust_at_gato_ranch : I really don't think that's it though @coultermoore I didn't even degrease that one to far right. I think it has to do with how/where these did decomp. These are from a farm. When their goats die they put them on a cedar chip pile and dump more cedar on top. The cedar seems to have colored the bone.

shroudsofshadow : Ants will sometimes eat what other insects won't, but not having any around is obviously an issue. A well aimed drop of weak (2-4 mol) hcl or carbonic acid can help loosen the flesh, without damaging the bone, if you use it in small amounts... Other than that, good luck
