themikelacy : @lexie001 pretty sure if Tebow so much as falls into a puddle that someone spilled alcohol into the media will CLOBBER him. They're waiting on him to fail b/c of his beliefs and praising Collins for his while arguing for equality. That's entirely stupid

lexie001 : People aren't praising him because he is gay. They are praising him that he came out and told the whole world without fear even though most of basketball is very homophobic. Tebow never had to go through something like that. Sure you can tell the world that your Christian, but it is so common (especially in football) that nobody will even care. With basketball there are almost no openly gay men ( besides bosh lol) @themikelacy

themikelacy : @lexie001 Pretty sure Tebow deals with a lot. There are women that wanna sleep with him just to say he's not as good as people think. The media puts this insane amount of pressure of him just because he's a Christian. If he slips up one time it will be just as bad as anything Collins deals with. The difference is Collins can date a woman and people won't think twice. If Tebow commits any type of sin in public he's gonna get crucified so to say noone cares is highly inaccurate. He just hasn't given them the story they want yet and quite honestly I hope he never does

If he already announced that he's gay then he can't go around dating women just like Tebow can't go around sinning. It was their choice to do come out as that so publically so the media will react violently. But we are not talking about what would happen if they did something contradictory to what they came out as. We are talking about just in coming out. And Collins is having a much harder time than Tebow is @themikelacy

themikelacy : @lexie001 no they wouldn't because its the natural thing to do. And even still no he is not because he's being sheltered. He's on every news station being called a hero while people that speak out against the lifestyle (mostly Christians) are being called narrow-minded and some are even at risk of losing their jobs (Chris Broussard at ESPN). Collins has soooo much more support than negativity right now and you know that's true. I'm not following your logic

lexie001 : People don't speak out against the Christian lifestyle because they are Christian. I mean if you look at it it seems like a pretty legit religion. Love your neighbor as you love yourself. Done. But it's the so many ways that people interpret the bible that discourages people from Christianity. So much hate from a lot of the churches who claim to preach love. That's not an argument it's just a general statement. Not to be mean here because I'm Christian too but we are the most cultish religion out there. I think I might convert to Buddhist or something for real. I mean you don't see people being mean to Buddhists. Because they aren't cultish or extremist. Seriously considering that though. I don't want to be in a religion that is meant to preach love but interprets it wrong and it turns into hate. You feel me? @themikelacy

themikelacy : @lexie001 that's the problem with Christianity though. We're so focused on what the RELIGION is supposed to be like instead of what our personal relationships with God should be like. He's the only one that should matter to us. I totally get what you're saying however its important to remember GOD didn't intend for it to be this way, that's something that WE as humans made it into. I say we because I'm just as guilty as the next however that doesn't mean I don't continue striving to be Christ-like which is the most important thing. Its very important to have a church family not only to hold you accountable but to fellowship with and be a blessing to HOWEVER the most important part of it all is YOUR personal commitment and relationship with Christ and that what we often times lose sight of.
