threadfin84 : I wouldn't use tweezers...unfortunately that will help them expel toxins and help them reproduce by ripping tissue to settle else where. When I want to kill aiptasia I make a really thick kalk mix with a little di water and turn off all the pumps and make the tank still then use a syringe to drizzle it all over them and let it sit for 10 mins then use a small siphon hose to slurp it totally out and your done. Turn the pumps on and enjoy no more aiptasia and no jacked water parameters.
_reef_fanatic_ : The shrooms arent gonna bother the torch
zoanthid : Thanks @threadfin84 I thought that was a bad idea.. What is Kalk mix??
zoanthid : @fish_tank_frank water parameters are near perfect.. Calc a little low at 9..
_reef_fanatic_ : The easiest way to describe kalk is that its a calicum powder that you mix up and setup a drip system to maintain cal levels but i use B-ionic and it seems to work best its a 2 part system with cal and alk @zoanthid
_reef_fanatic_ : Kalkwasser
justjimarri : tweeser bad. looks good bro torch and shrooms friendly neighbors
zoanthid : Thanks @justjimarri Palythoa are suspect. Can give off toxins according to @threadfin84

moon_shyner_x : coral munchers .
gharamroti : @moon_shyner_x taking a chance... They too beautiful not to have in ur tank π
moon_shyner_x : @gharamroti. they sure are. Cant loose my coral though. cost more than fish.
lenny718 : They are reef safe but they do like to munch on aptaisa but that's a good thingπ
gharamroti : @lenny718 that's what I'm counting on ;) Goodbye #aiptasia π
petedunk : Nice!
melstar22 : Mine never munched on any corals and I had a few, hard fish to keep alive but eventually there will be one that lives, the one In my reef has been there a year now. Has never touched any coral! Such a beautiful fish! One of my favorites!
psychobilly07 : Just have to train him to eat frozen In order for him to sirvive

bporter19 : I tried the lemon juice method, no luck. But aptasia-x did work
dj311style : Aiptasia X works well when used properly. I.e injected into the stalk (using a finer grade hypo then they include) or heavily globbed into an open mouth. If you have a ton in one area I'd glob them up well then turkey baste that mess out. THEN introduce the one day starved peppermint shrimp. I only keep 1 in a 90g display know exactly where he hides, and noticed that he's kept all SMALL like babybaby aptasias at bay. Worked great for me for over 3 years with no flare ups. Tough little hitchhikers definitely dip all your new additions. I like the Tropic Marin pro coral cure and coral rx pro. Depending on the specimen. Good luck!
dropkickdan : @kylebenz matted file fish are aiptasia eating file fish. I have struggled with aiptasia and I find its the only thing that works.my opinion is its Always best to use fish for their proper job instead of chemically dosing!
muthafxcknkyle : Joes juice works much better in my opinion
sbeck242 : I'm going to try it today #. I'll let you know how it goes.
reefermadness : I need something for Majanos...
lostcityoffishlantis : @reefermadness according to @_jacob_c_, this kills Majanos indefinitely..
reefermadness : @lostcityoffishlantis That's good to know! I may need to invest in some. Now, if only I could find a way to get rid of blue daisy polyps π¬

lostcityoffishlantis : @_jayj_ some don't, some do.. This one didn't for a while until a few years ago, but I agree 100% with @fishpicgram unfortunately..
romulus2187 : It was so bad, but we got them to replace their whole saltwater system. \m/
_jayj_ : most lfs are better than petco

91atrac : I've heard that stuff works. Reef safe I do believe. I just use lemon juice and had someone say boiled ro water worked for him.
dropkickdan : If that doesn't work get yourself a matted filefish. I guarantee it will eat every aptasia head you have
8speed : Have u tried the getting shrimps peppermint to eat it . Have seen It work well in a buddies tank @_jacob_c_
_jacob_c_ : any file fish will work? @dropkickdan and @8speed im thinkn im gna take a trip to town this weekend and get a grazing cleanup crew. peppermints, snails, emerald crab, and maybe a file fish if any type will work
dropkickdan : Think so.. I just know the matted ones work the best. They are so ugly! I threw two in a 100g tank and the lr was completely covered . Within two weeks, every piece of aptasia was gone
_jacob_c_ : well. i tried it out tonite. the nems sucked right up. but it also dripped onto my frogspawn and it did the same thing... hope this stuff really is reef safe...
phillyc87 : @_jacob_c_ i have peppermint shrimp i didnt feed my tank for a whole weekend and they knocked all my aptasia out except one head. Im about the natural approach. But the product does indeed work
_jacob_c_ : ok cool. im gna pick up a few this weekend! @phillyc87

psychobilly07 : They say peppermint shrimp eat them but I ve never had much luck going that route, its not east but sumtimes they can be plucked out with tweezers
coralreefenthusiast : Two things work really well, one is to inject them with a syringe with kalkwsser right into their belly. This method requires you to check your calcium levels as they will rise. The second is a Klein butterfly fish, they will devour them in days/weeks, but the Klein option I only recommend in server circumstances as when they are all done with the aptasia they may continue with some corals. I would never use tweezers as doing this will just make it worse for to the fact that any small piece left behind will grow new ones. Good luck bud.
home_grown_oceans : I've never had them in my reef my peppermint tore them up as soon as they would show up

heatherc369 : @dorian_carter the LR in in an empty tank rt now thank god!! But ill look into it!!
dorian_carter : I had a serious problem as we'll pepermint shrimp ate them all in a few days
heatherc369 : This tank is suppose to be for my Peacock Mantis but we are waiting for it to cycle - I'm debating just leaving them bc they can't hurt my Mantis- but my Mantis would def Kill peppermint shrimp lol @dorian_carter but, one rock was in my DT for a few days so just in case I want to throw some peppermint shrimp in There. But in my 125 I already have a coral banded, fire shrimp and a skunk cleaner - think peps are a good idea?
dorian_carter : Not to sure in that case lol. But their usually very inexpensive so I'm sure it wouldn't be a big deal lol
yaavuuz : Put the coral banded in this tank for a few days :) problem is solved :P
